Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual SAP SD/MM Specialist who is fluent in Japanese (N2 or N3 certified) and English to support a rollout project for a leading retail client in Japan. The ideal candidate will bring 5-8 years of experience in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) and Materials Management (MM), with a strong understanding of e-commerce, retail integration, warehouse operations, and order-to-cash (OTC) processes. This role involves collaborating with teams in NYC, USA, and a Project Manager in Japan, with potential travel to retail stores in Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP SD/MM Configuration and Project Implementation:
- Configure and optimize SAP MM and SAP SD modules, ensuring alignment with business processes and objectives.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and design effective SAP solutions.
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP MM and SD modules with other SAP financial modules.
- Implement Sales Order Management, Delivery, Billing, Pricing, Purchase Order Management, Stock Transfer, Inventory Management, and Valuation.
Retail Integration and E-Commerce:
- Provide expertise in retail integration, warehouse operations, transportation management, and e-commerce processes.
- Work on Customer Activity Repository (CAR), POS Inbound/Outbound, and Retail Store Operations.
- Support the e-commerce portion of retail businesses, focusing on order management and supply chain efficiencies.
System Testing, Troubleshooting, and Enhancement:
- Conduct system testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integration testing.
- Troubleshoot SAP SD/MM issues, resolve system bugs, and implement enhancements.
- Monitor system performance and implement necessary improvements.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and functional specifications for SAP processes and configurations.
Cross-functional Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the global SAP team based in NYC and the local project manager in Japan.
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions to align project goals.
- Provide remote support and on-site assistance during critical project phases in Japan.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience as an SAP SD/MM Consultant.
- Proven expertise in Sales Order Management, Billing, Pricing, Retail Integration, Purchase Order Management, and Stock Transfer.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA 2020.
- Strong knowledge of Customer Activity Repository (CAR) and POS Inbound/Outbound.
- Experience with FIORI applications and e-commerce integration in a retail business setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot SAP SD/MM issues and implement custom solutions.
- Proficient in SAP integration and business process analysis.
Key Competencies:
- Certified N2 or N3 Japanese speaker, fluent in Japanese and English, both verbal and written.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with global teams and local stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in retail and e-commerce environments.
- Ability to read and write in Japanese with strong business writing skills in both English and Japanese.
- Willingness to travel to Japan as needed to support the rollout project.
