Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual SAP MM Consultant who is fluent in Japanese and English to support a rollout project for a leading retail client in Japan. The ideal candidate will bring 5-8 years of experience in SAP Materials Management (MM), with a strong understanding of retail integration, warehouse operations, procurement processes, and supply chain management. This role involves collaborating with teams in NYC, USA, and a Project Manager in Japan, with potential travel to retail stores in Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP MM Implementation and Configuration:
- Configure and implement SAP MM solutions, focusing on procurement, inventory management, vendor management, and material planning.
- Ensure seamless integration of SAP MM with warehouse operations, transportation management, and retail systems.
- Manage procurement processes, including purchase orders, stock transfers, and vendor evaluations.
Retail Integration and E-Commerce:
- Implement best practices for integrating SAP MM with retail systems, enhancing supply chain and procurement efficiencies.
- Collaborate on FIORI applications to improve retail procurement and inventory processes.
- Work with retail teams to optimize material management and logistics operations.
Testing, Support, and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct system testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and integration testing for SAP MM modules.
- Provide support and troubleshooting for SAP MM-related issues, ensuring smooth supply chain operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and functional specifications for SAP MM solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience as an SAP MM Consultant.
- Proven expertise in SAP MM modules, including procurement, inventory management, vendor management, and material planning.
- Strong understanding of SAP Retail, SAP S/4HANA 2020, and FIORI applications.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce integration, warehouse management, and material management processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize SAP MM functionalities.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles and retail-specific SAP solutions.
Key Competencies:
- Fluent in Japanese and English, both verbal and written.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with global and local teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage SAP MM projects effectively.
- Willingness to travel to Japan as needed.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Japanese retail systems and local procurement practices.
- Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
- SAP certification in MM module is an advantage.
